Compared to last Wednesday: steers from 400 lbs to 449 lbs and steers from 500 lbs to 549 lbs were 10.00 to 12.00 higher, while steers from 450 lbs to 499 lbs and steers from 550 lbs to 599 lbs were mostly 2.00 to 4.00 higher. Heifers from 350 lbs to 399 lbs were 15.00 to 20.00 higher, heifers from 450 lbs to 599 lbs were generally 6.00 to 8.00 lower. No other comparisons available. Good to very good demand for todays offering of fully preconditioned calves coming right off the cow. Most were light fleshed with spring and fall vaccinations and attractive for quality. An active market with order buyers and farmer feeders in the seats competing with internet buyers trying to procure cattle. Warmer weather in the area has allowed fall harvest to resume and made for movement of livestock easier. This was the last scheduled special black hided calf sale of the season. Next feeder sale will be Friday November 3, 2023, expecting a large run of yearlings and spring born calves.
