Feeder heifers 3.00-8.00 higher, 850 lb. weight class 20.00 higher. Steer and heifer calves 10.00-20.00 lower on lesser quality. Demand good. Notably calves weaned less than 45 days and those with 1 round or no shots took a plunge today, as much as 40.00 lower. Calves straight off the cow with at least 2 rounds of shots did not feel the full slip of today's market and are labeled as value added in this report. It is crucial this time of year to wean calves 45-60 days prior to the sale to ensure their health and marketability. Sick calves are less likely to sell and can result in substantial financial losses.
