Compared to two weeks ago: A lighter offering compared to the very large sale two weeks ago, feeder steers and heifers sold with steady to lower undertones. The market was still pretty active, especially on a heifer to go back to the country with. The market on the light cattle was not as sparky as last sale as the quality was not near as attractive. There were more small consignments of the tail end of last year's spring calves that have just been hay fed and been through some weather. The cash fat cattle market as slipped back to 244.00-246.00, from it's spike to 250.00 last week, and has moved under the spot month of the Live Cattle futures, which sure stopped the advance of the feeder market. Next feeder cattle special sale will be May 7, 2026.
