Compared to last week: Steer calves under 550 lbs 30.00 to 50.00 higher, over 550 lbs 5.00 to 15.00 higher. Heifer calves under 550 lbs 20.00 to 50.00 higher, 550-600 lbs 7.00 to 10.00 higher, over 600 lbs steady. Very good demand for light weight, yearling making steer and heifer calves. Good to very good demand for those weights that were bound for feedyards. Flesh condition was very light to moderate, winter storms have been frequent and have kept feeder cattle in a green condition overall. Optimism has returned amongst cattle producers as the futures contracts, and cash fat cattle market last week made up a lot of lost ground. Yearling operators are having to compete very heavily for the more limited numbers of light cattle, cattle feeders have a little more selection. The quality was really attractive, plenty of long strings including full loads of these high quality home-raised steers and heifers. Next feeder cattle sale will be Jan. 8, 2026.
