Compared to last week: Steer calves 15.00 to 30.00 lower, except 600-650 lbs 30.00 to 40.00 lower. Heifer calves under 500 lbs 5.00 to 10.00 lower, 500-600 lbs 30.00 to 40.00 lower, over 600 lbs steady to 5.00 lower. Moderate to good demand for this large offering of ranch raised, very attractive, light fleshed steer and heifer calves. The market was under great pressure again this week as the cattle futures contracts continue their rapid descent. The market was lower but it was still very active. The cattle in light enough weight to make yearlings out of continue to be the easiest to sell, compared to the 600 lbs steers where auctioneers had to take .25 and .50 bids at times. Cattle feeders are bidding very cautiously as their confidence in the market has been shaken. Cash fed cattle at 225.00-230.00 this week, but the winter months of the CME Live Cattle under 220.00 has cattle feeders looking at a loss on the yearlings they placed on feed and are struggling to buy cattle cheap enough to stay inline with a falling futures contract. Next reported sale will be Nov. 13, 2025 with 4,500 feeder cattle expected.
