Compared to last week: Steers 500 to 600 lbs. 10.00 higher, steers 600 to 700 10.00 higher, steers 700 to 800 lbs. 2.00 to 5.00 higher. Heifers 500 to 600 lbs. 10.00 to 15.00 higher, heifers 600 to 700 lbs. 5.00 to 10.00 higher, heifers 700 to 800 lbs. steady. Not enough feeder cattle under 500 lbs. for a good test. Not enough yearlings for a good test. The demand continues to be very good on the feeder cattle. The market is very active with the grass cattle pushing the market higher. The feeder cattle are carrying a very attractive flesh condition, no feeder cattle carrying a fleshy condition. The Dow Jones Industrial Average has had large moves to the downside, this is not affecting the CME feeder cattle boards so far. The CME Feeder Cattle Index closed March 12 at 281.25, pushing all time highs. The Dickinson, ND area continues to be very dry. The next USDA reported sale at Stockmen's will be March 20 with a feeder and grass cattle special, 2500 3000 head expected.
