Compared to last week: Steers 500 lbs. to 600 lbs. steady to 5.00 higher, Steers 600 lbs. to 700 lbs. steady to 3.00 higher, Steers 700 lbs. to 800 lbs. 3.00 to 7.00 higher, Steers over 800 lbs. not enough for a test. Heifers 500 lbs. to 600 lbs. steady to 5.00 lower, Heifers 600 lbs. to 700 lbs. 2.00 to 7.00 higher, Heifers over 700 lbs. steady. Feeder cattle under 500 lbs. steady. Not enough yearlings for a test. The buyer demand was very good especially on the grass cattle. The market continues to be active with a lot of bidding and online bidding. The feeder cattle were carrying a attractive flesh condition for the buyers. The CME feeder boards have been under downward pressure this is not showing up at Stockmen's as the cash price continues to be strong especially on the grass cattle. The Dickinson, ND area is experiencing a winter drought with areas north of Dickinson in the extreme drought condition category. The sale featured a replacement heifer special a lot of top quality heifers sold and are noted in the report. The next USDA reported sale at Stockmen's is March 13.
