Reporter comment USDA

As filed

Compared to last week numbers were too low for a good comparison. The lighter weight steers and heifers to go to grass this spring were aggressively bid up by those buyers filling orders. The load lots of heavier feeder steers and heifers going to the feed lots also got buyers bidding. No replacement quality heifers in todays offering. Most feeders coming to market were carrying excess tag today. Many small bunches of feeders in todays offering. It appears that many are cleaning out their lots before calving gets in to full swing. Most feeders were in light to moderate plus flesh condition.
