Compared to last week, steer and heifer calves traded 3.00-8.00 higher. Yearlings were not well tested, however undertones were higher. Demand was good on a moderate supply. Quality was above average as several reputation producers brought their calf crop to town. These weaned and vaccinated calves were presented in load and multi-load drafts, keeping buyers busy on their phones. For almost two hours nothing but black-hided Medium and Large #1 calves came through the ring, something unusual for this part of the state. Steers averaged 572 lbs at 160.82/cwt while heifers averaged 544 lbs at 141.69/cwt.
