As filed

Compared to last week's sharp upturn, steers and heifers sold mostly 10.00 to 15.00 lower with the exception of some 500-550 lb steers that found a few more outlets and sold 2.00 to 7.00 lower. Slaughter cows 6.00 to 7.00 lower. The big bounce the local cash market experienced last week turned out to be short lived as buyers all came in prepared to buy cattle at sharply lower money. Even after weeks of volatility, Thursday's limit down move for LC and FC contracts seemed especially discouraging amidst rumors of plant disruptions that surfaced midweek. Fear of the unknown is currently in the driver's seat. Supply and demand moderate.
