As filed

Compared to last week, steers and heifers traded mostly 10.00 to 15.00 higher. Slaughter cows 4.00 to 8.00 higher. Another down day for cattle futures makes a person feel like there's more volatility to come but the local cash feeder trade showed little concern. Most weights and classes of cattle gained back all of last week's sharp losses and then some, as much as 20.00 higher, especially on 600-700 lb steers and 400-500 lb heifers. Feeder cattle receipts have been very light in the area over the past couple weeks which also aided the market. Supply light, demand good to very good.
