Compared to last week, steer calves under 550 lbs sold steady while the steers weighing 550-800 lbs and all weights of heifers under 800 lbs sold steady to 8.00 lower and those over 800 lbs sold steady. Demand was moderate to good for a moderate to heavy supply. The fleshier heifers found only moderate demand while the yearling steers and thin stockers saw the best demand. The new crop calves made up a higher percentage of the offering this week and there were more backgrounded yearlings carrying some flesh than grazers.
