Compared to the last sale two weeks ago, steers under 550 lbs sold 15.00-25.00 higher with spots 30.00 higher on the 4 weights, 550-750 lbs 3.00-10.00 higher with spots 15.00 higher and those over 750 lbs sold steady. Heifers sold steady to 3.00 higher except for those weighing 550-600 lbs selling 10.00-20.00 higher. Demand was very good following the break for the weather last week and cattle futures have come roaring back the last few trading sessions after some slight bearishness. Supply was moderate. The grazing cattle under 600 lbs are getting harder to find and there were noticeably fewer this week. Several new crop calves are starting to show up. Slaughter cows sold 2.00-6.00 higher.
