Compared to last week calves made up a higher percentage of the moderate supply, making for a light test of comparable sales, but steers and heifers sold mostly steady. Despite the poor weather conditions Tuesday, buyers were receptive to the quality calves on a good health program and demand was good with a hard freeze in the forecast. Demand for yearlings was moderate to good. Several of the calves brought in off the cow were in more attractive flesh than one might think with the plentiful grass this year. Slaughter cows sold steady to 2.00 lower.
