Compared to last week steers and heifers sold steady to 5.00 higher, except for the loads of 800-950 lb steers selling 5.00-7.00 higher than the last comparable sales two weeks ago. Demand was good to very good and noticeably better on the calves under 600 lbs with more buyers interested this week. The quality was attractive throughout the sale and trade was active with some renewed optimism in the market as fat cattle continue to move higher backed by strong consumer demand. Supply was moderate. Slaughter cows sold 2.00-4.00 higher.
