Reporter comment USDA

As filed

Compared to last Tuesday, feeder steers and heifers mostly firm to 5.00 higher except a few heifers near 425 lbs steady to 5.00 lower. Slaughter cows 2.00-4.00 higher. Demand good. Supply light. The feeder trade had a better feel this week with beef import talk in the rear view for now and feeder futures 4.00-5.00 higher on Tuesday. Beef cutout values have also been stronger to start the week. A special cow sale followed the feeders with several nice bred cows and pairs.
