Compared to last week, steer calves weighing 450-500 lbs sold steady, with a much light offering this week of 500-550 lb steers trading with a weak to lower undertone, with 550-650 lb steers trading firm to 10.00 higher, yearling steers over 700 lbs all sold with a higher undertone on limited comparisons. Heifer calves weighing 400-500 lbs sold near steady, with 500-600 lb trading fully steady to firm and 600-650 lbs selling steady to 7.00 higher. Demand was good on a moderate supply with the best demand on a good quality offering of 550-650 lb steers and the pot loads of 850-1050 lb steers. The market remains very active for calves and yearlings. Several stick out sales included 48 hd of steers weighing 580 lbs at 510.00; 120 hd of 876 lb steers at 368.10; 108 hd of 1047 lb steers at 317.00 and 92 hd of heifers weighing 601 lbs at 430.00. Slaughter cows sold steady on a light offering.
