Compared to last week's very active market, steer calves weighing 400-500 lbs sold steady, with steer calves weighing 500-550 lbs and 600-650 lbs trading mostly 5.00-10.00 lower as 550-600 lbs and 650-700 lbs traded steady, 700-750 lbs sold 5.00-10.00 lower and over 850 lbs sold steady with last week on comparable weights. Heifer calves weighing 450-500 lbs traded steady, with 500-600 lb heifer calves trading mostly 5.00-12.00 lower and 6 weights steady. Demand was good on a moderate to heavy offering. There were 15 loads of good quality feeders weighing from 525-985 lbs all sold with good demand. Steer and heifer calves didn't reach last week's highs and the market for the most part gave back last week's gains on the calves weighing 500-650 lbs. Several stick out sales included 97 hd of steers weighing 527 lbs at 545.00; 80 hd of steers weighing 612 lbs at 478.00; 71 hd steers weighing 685 lbs at 435.25 and 56 steers weighing 917 lbs at 351.50. Slaughter cows on a light offering traded mostly steady.
