Compared to last week, steers calves under 600 lbs sold steady to firm, with 6 weights trading firm to 6.00 higher with the most advance on the 600-650 lbs steers, 700-750 lbs sold 5.00-15.00 higher and three pot loads of 925-945 lb sold firm to 2.00 higher. Heifer calves weighing 400-500 lbs on a light test sold with a firm to higher undertone, 500-550 lbs sold unevenly steady with 550-700 lbs trading fully steady to firm and 700-800 lbs sold with a firm to higher undertone. Demand was good on a moderate offering with cash fed cattle last Friday in the Northern Plains trading higher from mostly 205.00-206.00 giving buyers a bullish attitude. Several stick out sales on some top quality feeders including pot load steers weighing 622 lbs at 341.75, 40 hd of steers weighing 723 lbs at 315.50, pot load 928 lbs at 267.75, 120 hd 946 lbs at 266.50 and pot load fancy/thin blk heifers 81 hd weighing 581 lbs at 339.75. Slaughter cows sold mostly steady.
