Compared to last week, steer calves under 550 lbs sold steady with a larger offering of new crop calves in the mix, 550-700 lb steers sold 5.00-15.00 higher with the most advance on the 650-700 lb steers, 700-800 lb steers sold 2.00-8.00 higher and seven pot loads of steers over 800 lbs traded steady. Heifer calves weighing 400-500 lbs on a light test and 600-700 lb heifers traded 5.00-10.00 higher with 500-550 lb heifers selling fully steady to firm. Demand was good on a moderate supply with a nice quality offering of calves and yearlings all selling on and active market. Several stick out sales included 41 steers weighing 695 lbs at 315.50, 46 steers weighing 762 lbs at 290.25, pot load steers weighing 885 lbs at 271.50 and pot load of heifers weighing 654 lbs at 285.25. Also selling was a large offering of slaughter steers and heifers selling with very good demand with four pot loads of heifers weighing from 1220 to 1309 lbs selling from 204.25-206.75 and several small packages and groups trading from 208.50-210.25. Slaughter cows sold steady to firm.
