Compared to last week, a lighter offering this week with cold weather and snow in the forecast, a light offering of steer calves under 600 lbs were lightly tested with a nice offering of 600-650 lb steers selling firm to 9.00 higher, a light test of 7 weight steers and the pot loads of steers over 800 lbs all sold with a steady to firm undertone. Feeder heifers overall were lightly tested with the 500-550 lb heifers selling with a firm to higher undertone. Supply was light to moderate but the offering included ten pot loads of yearlings and several part loads which made up the bulk of the receipts. Demand was good on the loads of good quality steers and all sold on and active market. Stick out sales included 38 head of 531 lb heifers with good weighing conditions at 343.50, 79 hd of 602 lb steers at 338.50, 85 steers weighing 637 lbs at 322.50, pot load 800 lb steers at 274.50, 117 hd of 885 lb steers at 269.00, 57 hd steers weighing 1035 lbs at 241.10 and a pot load of heifers weighing 839 lbs at 245.00. Slaughter cows on a light test sold 4.00-8.00 higher.
