Reporter comment USDA

As filed

Compared to last week, a very light test of feeders sold with a sharply higher undertone. This was another week of producers taking a wait and see attitude, but feeder demand was very good and prices on many of the calves were trading with the market three weeks ago. Slaughter cows sold 5.00-8.00 higher on good demand. CME cattle futures started the week on a high note closing with limit moves higher. Boxed-beef continues to soar higher with very good demand as meat counters continue to restock as it will be and interesting week to see how much higher fat cattle will trade this week.
