Compared to last week not enough calves or feeders for a comparison. Slaughter and feeding cows sold steady to 2.00 lower and bulls sold 3.00 higher. Large supply of bred cows and pairs on hand this week as ranchers are downsizing due to the lingering drought. Per NASS, topsoil moisture 81 percent short to very short. Subsoil moisture 92 percent short to very short. Range and pasture conditions are not in real good shape coming into the spring. Also, with lack of snowpack across the state some springs livestock normally utilize are not running at this time. Days of irrigation will be limited across most of the state that will also, decrease hay and feed supplies going into the fall and winter unless some must need rain comes.
