Compared to last week steers less than 650 lbs sold mostly 10.00 higher and over 650 lbs sold 2.00 higher to instances 10.00 higher on load lots. Heifers sold 2.00 to 10.00 higher. Slaughter cows sold mostly steady with a few lean feeding cows selling 3.00 lower and slaughter bulls sold 2.00 to 6.00 higher. Demand was good with several buyers at both reporting auctions and active internet buying. Some replacement heifer buyers at the auctions trying to procure something to kick back with a easy calving bull this summer. Comparison to last year the same week: Steers at 500 lbs this year brought on ave 145.00 per cwt more; 600 lbs 123.00 per cwt more and a 7 weight is at near 99.00 per cwt more.
