Compared to last week steer calves less than 650 lbs sold 5.00 to 20.00 higher, with 650 lbs steers 6.00 lower. Heifer calves sold unevenly steady throughout the week. Not enough yearling steers and heifers for a market trend. Slaughter cows sold steady to 5.00 lower and bulls sold 5.00 lower on heavy supply of slaughter cattle. Demand was moderate to good for some weights of calves. CME and negative rumors or quotes have been very hard on the cattle sector the last few weeks. With the CME cattle boards dropping and the feeder cattle index falling it has been hard for buyers to get a good feel on what they can pay for a certain weight class and still try to make a profit on the other end.

Head, weight ranges, average weights and price ranges are exactly as USDA AMS filed them — nothing recomputed, nothing rounded — in USDA's own reporting structure. This is RaisedBeef's rendering of that data, not a copy of USDA's document.
Source: USDA AMS, as filed — nothing recomputed and nothing rounded. This summary aggregates the same sales the Wyoming barn reports cover, so it must never be added to a state total built from those barns.
