No comparable sales from last week for a market comparison. However, a higher undertone was noted on slaughter cows and bulls. Few, feeders sold on the day with a steady undertone as buyers couldn't put a load together of any one weight group. Some areas locally of the auction market saw large hail and winds damaging fields and grasslands. Hopefully, enough rain prevailed for the grass to bounce back for summer grazing and for feed production. Some alfalfa producers in the east have started hay productions with some thinking around 30 percent less tonnage. Various reasons on the reduction of tonnage for first cutting in conversations.

Head, weight ranges, average weights and price ranges are exactly as USDA AMS filed them — nothing recomputed, nothing rounded — in USDA's own reporting structure. This is RaisedBeef's rendering of that data, not a copy of USDA's document.
