Compared to last week, feeder cattle were too thinly tested for an accurate market trend. In slaughter cattle, average dressing Breakers sold sharply higher, while average dressing Boner cows sold 6.00 lower and average dressing lean cows sold 7.00 higher. Average dressing slaughter bulls sold 5.00 higher. Demand was moderate with light runs of feeder cattle present. According to the US Drought Monitor, moderate to locally heavy precipitation (over 0.5 inch, with isolated amounts topping 2 inches) fell on some of the higher elevations of Wyoming. Other parts of the state remain dry and overall snowpack dropped this past week. There remains some carryover of hay within the sate and in surrounding states closest to the higher drought areas that will help livestock producers maintain a solid feed supply.

Head, weight ranges, average weights and price ranges are exactly as USDA AMS filed them — nothing recomputed, nothing rounded — in USDA's own reporting structure. This is RaisedBeef's rendering of that data, not a copy of USDA's document.
Source: USDA AMS, as filed — nothing recomputed and nothing rounded. This summary aggregates the same sales the Wyoming barn reports cover, so it must never be added to a state total built from those barns.
