Compared to last week fly weight steer calves sold steady, 400 to 700 lbs calves sold 2.00 to 7.00 higher, yearlings over 700 lbs sold mostly steady on a light test. Fly weight heifers sold 8.00 higher, 400 to 700 lbs sold 3.00 to 8.00 higher and yearlings unevenly steady on a very thin test. Slaughter cows sold mostly steady with slaughter bulls 3.00 lower. Demand was moderate to good for calves, feeders and slaughter cattle with good demand for bred heifers and cows. Around 42% of this week's total receipts was on cows leaving the trade area. Some are going to feed to improve their body composition then will be resold. Others are bred cattle with majority leaving the area due to drought conditions. Some much need moisture has came into the state in different areas this week.
