Compared to last week, steers and heifers sold with higher undertones on a thin test. Slaughter cows sold steady to 2.00 higher and slaughter bulls sold 3.00 higher. Not enough cow/calf pairs for a market test. Demand was good for feeders and slaughter cattle with moderate demand for pairs. Some areas of the state have had rain and has improved the drought conditions as several counties are listed as abnormally dry instead of moderate drought a few weeks ago. First cutting of alfalfa is around the corner as recent rains and irrigation has helped it grow. Warmer weather needs to prevail to add tonnage to the crop.

Head, weight ranges, average weights and price ranges are exactly as USDA AMS filed them — nothing recomputed, nothing rounded — in USDA's own reporting structure. This is RaisedBeef's rendering of that data, not a copy of USDA's document.
Source: USDA AMS, as filed — nothing recomputed and nothing rounded. This summary aggregates the same sales the Wyoming barn reports cover, so it must never be added to a state total built from those barns.
