Compared to last week steers under 800 lbs sold 1.00 to 4.00 higher, over 800 lbs sold 9.00 to 10.00 higher. Most weights of heifers sold 1.00 to 2.00 higher with over 900 lbs 4.00 higher. Compared to two weeks ago slaughter cows sold 3.00 to 5.00 lower and bulls 5.00 lower. Demand was good for yearling cattle going to the feedlot. Moderate demand for slaughter cows and pairs. Spotty rain showers across several areas of the state last week. Might be a little to late for this growing season but at least it shows it still can rain and it will replenish moisture in dry soils. Some cattlemen continue to reduce their herds for winter grazing and hay they have on hand.

Head, weight ranges, average weights and price ranges are exactly as USDA AMS filed them — nothing recomputed, nothing rounded — in USDA's own reporting structure. This is RaisedBeef's rendering of that data, not a copy of USDA's document.
