Not enough comparable sales of calves and feeder cattle for a market comparison. However, a higher undertone was noted. Slaughter cows sold 1.00 to 2.00 lower and slaughter bulls sold 4.00 lower. Cow/calf pairs steady to 100.00 per pair less. Demand was moderate to good. Cow/calf pairs continue to make their way to town from local trade area and surrounding states. Very dry grass and limited water supply is forcing ranchers to liquidate some of their cattle and instance a complete dispersal. Not many grass yearlings have come to town from this area. The first summer Cattle County video sale is July 6th and will comprise of top quality, thin fleshed yearlings and could have a few bawling or weaned calves in the mix. Sale consignments can be viewed at http://www.cattlecountryvideo.com/ Alfalfa hay production is in full swing, limited confirmed sales but several prospective buyers on are on the list to buy hay.

Head, weight ranges, average weights and price ranges are exactly as USDA AMS filed them — nothing recomputed, nothing rounded — in USDA's own reporting structure. This is RaisedBeef's rendering of that data, not a copy of USDA's document.
Source: USDA AMS, as filed — nothing recomputed and nothing rounded. This summary aggregates the same sales the Wyoming barn reports cover, so it must never be added to a state total built from those barns.
