Compared to last week: Yearling feeder steers under 900 lbs 6.00 to 10.00 lower, over 900 lbs 5.00 higher. Yearling feeder heifers 3.00 to 5.00 lower, except 900-950 lbs 10.00 lower. Spring born steer and heifer calves not well compared, larger numbers of those calves offered this week as the drought is pushing cattle to town. Good demand for yearlings as they continue to come off grass in that highly desirable light flesh condition. The volatility in the cattle futures complex continues to add uncertainty to the marketplace. The week started strong in the fat cattle trade but my late week had followed the futures lower, reports of 220.00 in Iowa.
