Only 1 reported feeder cattle auction on this holiday shortened week, too few to offer a comparison to last week's combined sales. Demand remains very good as feeder cattle auction schedules have become sporadic, as is normal for this time of year. Plentiful rains have pastures green and growing and row crops looking very good. Cash fed cattle market still outperforms the futures contracts, which is causing cattle feeders to pay little attention to it and keep focused on the positive market fundamentals.

Head, weight ranges, average weights and price ranges are exactly as USDA AMS filed them — nothing recomputed, nothing rounded — in USDA's own reporting structure. This is RaisedBeef's rendering of that data, not a copy of USDA's document.
Source: USDA AMS, as filed — nothing recomputed and nothing rounded. This summary aggregates the same sales the South Dakota barn reports cover, so it must never be added to a state total built from those barns.
