Compared to last week: Feeder steers under 850 lbs 5.00 to 10.00 higher, instances to 20.00 higher on 700-750 lbs, over 850 lbs unevenly steady. Feeder heifers unevenly steady. Very good demand for all weights of steers and heifers as the futures contracts made good gains and the cash fat cattle market spiked back up to 215.00. Feeder cattle offerings were more limited this week as the Easter holiday approached. The market is very active on the lightweight cattle as available numbers of this class of cattle dwindle rapidly. Cattle feeders were given a dose of optimism this week as they were able to sell their market ready fat cattle higher.
