Compared to last week: Feeder steers steady to 5.00 lower, heifers unevenly steady. Very good demand remains for yearling steers and heifers, especially for those light fleshed cattle coming right off grass. Cattle feeders backed off in their pursuit of feeder cattle, but still the market is very active and the competition to own cattle remains great. Grass conditions are still good enough to allow cattle to remain turned out, resulting in lighter offerings in the auctions. Cash fed cattle around the 188.00 mark, still much higher than what was anticipated at the start of the summer. This fact is helping to support the feeder market, even if it was lower this week. Slaughter cows 2.00 to 4.00 lower, bulls 9.00 to 10.00 lower.
