Compared to last week: Feeder steers 1.00-7.00 lower. Feeder heifer 5.00-11.00 lower. Steer calves 12.00-17.00 lower. Heifer calves 15.00-20.00 lower. Slaughter cows 3.00-5.00 lower. Slaughter bulls 4.00 lower. For the second consecutive week, all classes of cattle trade lower across the board. Livestock markets are facing pressure on multiple fronts, with packers continuing to pull back as box beef values declinedChoice down 17.00 and Select down 19.00 this week. Farmers are focused on sowing wheat and showing little interest in purchasing cattle until fieldwork is completed. Seasonal health challenges in October are also weighing on the market, as calf sickness tends to increase this time of year. This morning packers offered 231 for fats in Iowa 5.00-6.00 back of 236-237 accepted yesterday, on a market already trading 1.00-3.00 lower than last week.
