Compared to last week: Combined weighted average for 7 auctions: Ada, Apache, McAlester, Oklahoma City, OKC West, Tulsa, and Woodward. Feeder steers and heifers sold 2.00-5.00 higher, with late week sales up to 9.00 higher. Demand very good for feeder cattle. Coming off of a holiday shortened week, buyers were ready to get back to work. Cattle futures finally made some positive moves on the week. Auction numbers diminishing some as is typical for summer. Steer and heifer calf trade very uneven as days weaned and flesh conditions had a big influence on price. Weather has finally turned more summer like and hot and humid.
