Compare to last week steer calves sold steady to 10.00 higher and yearling steers sold steady to 5.00 higher. Heifer calves sold steady to 8.00 higher with some flyweight calves trading 20.00 higher. Yearling heifers sold unevenly steady. Demand was mostly good throughout the week. Several top notch calves hit the market place this week and most were fully preconditioned. Some lots of calves sold a tick lighter and a little earlier than normal due to the drought conditions in several areas of the state. Some area received rain in the last seven days with totals from 4.00" to 10.00" in some areas. Flash flooding and crop damage in the eastern side of the state with the heavy rain totals. Some soybeans pod have popped and spilling beans on the ground and a few reports of corn sprouting on the ear due to the very wet September. End of the week the sun came out and combines and choppers went back to the fields. Area feedlots traded live sales steady to 2.00 lower from 220.00 to 222.00 and dressed sales steady to 5.00 lower at 345.00.
