Compared to last week fall steer and heifer calves less than 600 lbs sold steady to 10.00 lower. Steers over 600 lbs sold steady to 3.00 higher. Heifers over 600 lbs sold steady to 5.00 higher. Demand was good throughout the week. Late spring cattle sales continue to bring large crowds to the auctions with active internet buying. Most auction markets are into their summer sale schedule of every other week or as needed. Feedlot sales continue to shoot upward as smaller than normal show list is available each week and with several packers in the state filling kill spots. New beef slaughter plant, Sustainable Beef has started to slaughter adding more shackle space to the Nebraska beef packing industry. Feedlots traded live sales from 240.00 to 245.00 and dressed sales from 380.00 to 385.00.
