Compared to last week, steers less than 600 lbs sold 20.00 lower, 600 to 800 lbs sold 6.00 to 13.00 lower and over 800 lbs sold 3.00 to 5.00 lower. Heifers less than 600 lbs sold 4.00 to 6.00 lower, over 600 lbs sold 6.00 to 14.00 lower. Demand was moderate to good for calves and feeders. Demand was mostly moderate to instances good for cow and heifer pairs. Drought conditions prevail across state, so cattlemen are not really seeking to add more inventory to their operations. Pasture and range conditions look tough for this time of year. But it's hard to flourish without significant moisture and it gets windblown every day. Area feedlots traded live sales 2.00-5.00 lower at 208.00 and dressed sales traded 7.00-8.00 lower from 327.00-328.00.

Head, weight ranges, average weights and price ranges are exactly as USDA AMS filed them — nothing recomputed, nothing rounded — in USDA's own reporting structure. This is RaisedBeef's rendering of that data, not a copy of USDA's document.
Source: USDA AMS, as filed — nothing recomputed and nothing rounded. This summary aggregates the same sales the Nebraska barn reports cover, so it must never be added to a state total built from those barns.
