Compared to last week most weights of steers sold 2.00 to 4.00 lower on average except 8 weights sold 1.00 higher. Heifers sold unevenly steady. Demand was good to very good. Few, lots of top-quality replacement heifers rang a bell when the sold at various auction throughout the week. Several lots were sold by the head so the prospective buyer new exactly what the first cost would be as they headed to the breeding pen. Other "commented" steers and heifers across the state coming in with new record high prices. Feedlot sales sold mostly steady on a dressed market at 335.00, few at 345.00. Live sales sold unevenly steady at 213.00. Some areas of the state received some much-needed moisture with several areas in the Sandhills getting a blanket of wet snow. Other areas received a few tenths of rain, but it made agriculture people very happy! Something is better than nothing.
