Nebraska Weekly Livestock Auction Summary

Receipts 21,383Last week 10,598Year ago 18,993

Compared to last week bawling steer calves sold 5.00 to 8.00 higher. Yearling weight steers sold 3.00 to 4.00 higher. Bawling heifer calves sold steady to 2.00 higher. Heifers from 700 to 900 lbs sold 5.00 to 7.00 higher and over 900 lbs sold steady. Demand was moderate to good for bawling calves with good demand for yearling feeders. With the dry, windy conditions making weaning pens a haze most buyers are looking for calves with pre-condition shots especially a fall respiratory vaccination. A nice general rain across the state would be nice to clear the air and to keep the fires at bay. Nebraska feedlots held firm on asking prices until Friday afternoon when a few live sales traded steady at 187.00 and dressed sales sold 2.00 higher at 296.00.

Head, weight ranges, average weights and price ranges are exactly as USDA AMS filed them — nothing recomputed, nothing rounded — in USDA's own reporting structure. This is RaisedBeef's rendering of that data, not a copy of USDA's document.
Source: USDA AMS, as filed — nothing recomputed and nothing rounded. This summary aggregates the same sales the Nebraska barn reports cover, so it must never be added to a state total built from those barns.
