Compared to last week, steers less than 700 lbs sold unevenly steady, over 700 lbs sold steady to 3.00 lower. Heifers less than 600 lbs sold 10.00 higher, over 600 lbs sold steady. Demand was moderate to good. Some buyers are looking for fall preconditions vaccinations that are modified or live with respiratory a must before they start bidding. Others are buying on previous performance of calves and if they only have spring shots, they are taking that into account. Dry weaning pens, warm days and cool nights are prevailing and will test the backgrounders on getting all calves weaned without sickness. A good general rain across the state would be welcomed by many. Nebraska feedlot sales have been slow this week. Some trade transpired Friday with live sales 183.00 to 184.00 and dressed sales 290.00 to 292.00. Cattle on feed, On feed for Sep 1 101%, Aug Placed 99% and Aug Marketed 96%.
