Compared to last week's thin test of the market, this week steers sold from 6.00 to 10.00 lower except 9 weights sold 4.00 higher. Heifers less than 700 lbs sold 10.00 lower, 700 to 800 lbs sold 3.00 lower and over 800 lbs sold 7.00 to 10.00 higher. Demand for bawling and weaned fall calves moderate to good with good demand for yearlings, especially the ones coming off cool season grass. Demand was good to very good for cow/calf pairs and fall bred cows. Feedlot sales continue to hold steady and continue to sell with a very positive basis and giving optimism to feedlots as they try to back fill empty pens. Feedlot trade was mostly at a standstill through Friday afternoon with some live sales at 189.00-190.00 and dressed sales from 300.00 to 301.00. Ogallala Livestock kicked off the BBQ sale season with their anniversary sale celebrating 73 years in business. Other auction markets will follow with their special BBQ sales throughout the summer knowing buyers will come fill the seats to buy mostly cattle coming off summer grass that should really perform in the feedlot.

Head, weight ranges, average weights and price ranges are exactly as USDA AMS filed them — nothing recomputed, nothing rounded — in USDA's own reporting structure. This is RaisedBeef's rendering of that data, not a copy of USDA's document.
Source: USDA AMS, as filed — nothing recomputed and nothing rounded. This summary aggregates the same sales the Nebraska barn reports cover, so it must never be added to a state total built from those barns.
