Feeder CattleReceipts 36,908Last week 20,696Year ago 28,828
Replacement CattleReceipts 156Last week 2,472Year ago 737

Compared to last week steers under 600 lbs sold 4.00 to 5.00 higher over 600 lbs sold steady to 1.00 higher. Heifers less than 500 lbs sold 4.00 lower, over 500 lbs sold unevenly steady. Demand was good with several load lots of longtime weaned cattle on hand. Buyers continue to look for heifers that will make a good mom down the road. Several cattlemen are just hoping to get back to par in their herd size as several have had to sell off due to dry conditions the last few years. The drought monitor has the sandhills as normal for moisture, but most soil profiles are still dry down a few inches. Nebraska feedlots traded show unevenly steady on live and dressed sales. Live ranged from 179.00 to 181.00 and dressed sales from 287.00 to 288.00.

Head, weight ranges, average weights and price ranges are exactly as USDA AMS filed them — nothing recomputed, nothing rounded — in USDA's own reporting structure. This is RaisedBeef's rendering of that data, not a copy of USDA's document.
Source: USDA AMS, as filed — nothing recomputed and nothing rounded. This summary aggregates the same sales the Nebraska barn reports cover, so it must never be added to a state total built from those barns.
