Compared to last week steers sold steady to 2.00 higher. Heifers less than 800 lbs sold steady to 3.00 higher and over 800 lbs sold 10.00 higher. Demand was good for all weights and classes of cattle. Few, more loads going over in eastern part of the state to feedlots as pen conditions have improved from previous weeks. Some loads continue to go south to wheat pastures. Several internet and in house buyers are looking for heifers to place a bangs tag in and will be bred to a bull for resale later this year or kept with in their own herds. Feedlot trade was at a standstill all week until late Friday afternoon. Managers felt they needed more money as the Feb CME cattle board closed higher every day and ended 4.075 higher from previous Friday at 184.625. Plus, many lots of cattle going out light due to previous weather conditions. Dressed sales traded at 289.00, up 9.00 from the previous week and live sales sold 3.00 to 4.00 higher from 180.00 to 181.00.

Head, weight ranges, average weights and price ranges are exactly as USDA AMS filed them — nothing recomputed, nothing rounded — in USDA's own reporting structure. This is RaisedBeef's rendering of that data, not a copy of USDA's document.
Source: USDA AMS, as filed — nothing recomputed and nothing rounded. This summary aggregates the same sales the Nebraska barn reports cover, so it must never be added to a state total built from those barns.
