Compared to last week on comparable offerings of yearling steers sold steady. Yearling heifers sold 6.00 higher on a thin test with a lower undertone on fall calves. Demand was good for all offerings. Light receipts this week with only two auction markets having a reported sale. With low cattle numbers available to be placed on feed several feedlots in Nebraska continue to add bunk space to their feedlots! Nebraska feedlot trade was slow going. Packers purchasing cattle a little differently on a cash basis. Not wanting to make the weekly weighted average higher, they purchased some dressed FOB and live delivered cattle at a higher price and these lots do not make the weekly weighted average price. So far for this week live sales have been mostly at 188.00 to 190.00 and dressed sales at 295.00.
