Heifer calves sold steady to 5.00 lower, 600 to 800 lbs sold 3.00 to 5.00 lower, over 800 lbs sold unevenly steady. Bawling spring calves continue to head to town due to drought conditions as some cattlemen are out of grass in summer pastures. On a whole demand has been good for these early calves hitting the market with mostly only springtime vaccinations. Most reports that calves have been weaning well in all the heat and dust in the area. Silage chopping continues, with some reports of tonnage at a disappointment. Some feedlots laying in extra silage due to the shortage of other roughages in the state. Limited amount of high moisture corn has been picked off some dryland fields. Cash feedlot trade live sales sold 1.00 to 3.00 lower from 143.00 to 145.00 and dressed sales 4.00 lower at 228.00.

Head, weight ranges, average weights and price ranges are exactly as USDA AMS filed them — nothing recomputed, nothing rounded — in USDA's own reporting structure. This is RaisedBeef's rendering of that data, not a copy of USDA's document.
Source: USDA AMS, as filed — nothing recomputed and nothing rounded. This summary aggregates the same sales the Nebraska barn reports cover, so it must never be added to a state total built from those barns.
