Compared to last week on comparable offerings over 800 lbs sold 4.00 higher on steers and heifers over 900 lbs sold 2.00 higher. Not enough other weights for a comparable offering. Demand was good for yearling cattle going to the feedlot. Some lots coming off early season grass. With corn futures going back into the low 7.00 range feedlot are pushing their pencils on break-evens hoping they can push these cattle into late fall where the CME live cattle are in the mid to high 140's. Light to moderate rain across the state over the Memorial Day weekend. Some places saw huge hail, strong winds with most areas getting some much-needed moisture. Grass height is rather short for this time of year in most pastures as cool temperatures have prevailed along with lack of adequate moisture. Feedlot sales on a live basis sold steady to 2.00 lower at 140.00 and dressed sales mostly 3.00 lower at 223.00.

Head, weight ranges, average weights and price ranges are exactly as USDA AMS filed them — nothing recomputed, nothing rounded — in USDA's own reporting structure. This is RaisedBeef's rendering of that data, not a copy of USDA's document.
Source: USDA AMS, as filed — nothing recomputed and nothing rounded. This summary aggregates the same sales the Nebraska barn reports cover, so it must never be added to a state total built from those barns.
