Compared to last week steers under 800 lbs sold 8.00 to 10.00 lower, over 800 lbs sold 3.00 to 5.00 lower. Heifers under 700 lbs sold 7.00 to 10.00 lower and over 700 lbs sold 1.00 to 7.00 lower. This week’s comparison goes back to some very high-priced BBQ special sales last week. Demand was good for weaned fall calves and yearlings off summer grass with mostly moderate demand for backgrounded yearlings. Feedlot trade was steady on the week, live sales from 123.00 to 125.00 and dressed sales from 196.00 to 202.00. Spotting rain showers across the state helping farmers with row crops but hindering hay production. Quite a lot of the second cutting of alfalfa has had some rain on top of the mostly dry windrows decreasing the quality of the hay.

Head, weight ranges, average weights and price ranges are exactly as USDA AMS filed them — nothing recomputed, nothing rounded — in USDA's own reporting structure. This is RaisedBeef's rendering of that data, not a copy of USDA's document.
Source: USDA AMS, as filed — nothing recomputed and nothing rounded. This summary aggregates the same sales the Nebraska barn reports cover, so it must never be added to a state total built from those barns.
